Fig Tree Analogy (August 2026)

Fig Tree Analogy (August 2026)

How many versions of yourself are waiting to be lived? In this month’s Today’s Blue, we’re exploring one of my favorite literary metaphors: the fig tree from The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.

Imagine every fig as a different future. Stay beneath the tree forever, trying to pick the perfect one, and eventually the fruit begins to fall. In a world overflowing with possibilities, endless scrolling, and the pressure to optimize every decision, many of us find ourselves stuck in analysis paralysi, thinking so much about the “right” choice that we struggle to make .

Inside the envelope you’ll find:

  • A reflective letter exploring the many versions of ourselves through Sylvia Plath’s fig tree analogy and what it can teach us about modern decision-making.

  • Three themed stickers inspired by the fig tree, possibility, and gentle beginnings.

  • A junk journaling page to collect thoughts, dreams, and tiny moments of clarity.

  • A tree-shaped reflection exercise designed to help you map your own “figs” and notice what truly matters to you.

  • A surprise goodie, chosen to accompany this month’s theme.

  • A special envelope created just for this edition.
